WSRCC
presents an exciting educational opportunity to all licensed
adult family home providers. We have joined with the University
of Washington, NW Geriatric Education Center, to provide 52
credits on current geriatric care topics. Nationally and
regionally recognized NWGEC faculty from the University of
Washington present each topic. The series assists providers in
developing and enhancing health promotion interventions to
prevent disease and postpone further disability for the older
adults they serve.
The hours of
education are done at your leisure, in your own home, downloaded
from the internet. Parts of the series are video format and the
other parts are workbook format.
Cost:
$300.00 for 52 credits
There is a
core curriculum of 10 modules to be completed by all
participants. The remaining modules are personal choice to
complete for a total of 52 credits.
Video-based
modules include a streaming video of a 1.5 hour lecture and a
question and answer forum with accompanying downloadable slide
sets (a total of 1.5 credits per module).
Workbook
based modules include a downloadable workbook that reviews
relevant research findings and discusses efficacy of
intervention strategies with older adults. They also identify
related resources and materials (a total of 4.0 credits per
module).
There is a
quiz for each module that participants will have to pass to
obtain credit.
